The Seventh Sunday of Easter...
because Easter is a season... 50 days...
including tomorrow, May 13th

Parish Greenification today! Bring your clippers, green thumbs, and sun hats and head over to the church. Come mulch, weed, and plant this morning - coffee and donuts provided! Pull ten weeds, win our eternal adoration!

You're invited to a family plant-out
!
After the 10 am service this Sunday, all families and children are invited to join Ms. Ann along the driveway, where we'll plant up the flower beds to celebrate the spring! Special thanks to Peter Turner and Randy Prindle for preparing the flowerbeds for us.

Calling all cranes: Bring your folded origami cranes and doves with you to church this Sunday, May 13. We will string them into garlands in preparation for our Pentecost celebration (May 20th)!  Questions? Send the Rector an email. [email protected]

For the month of May, we will be collecting the items that go into Comfort Cases for children entering the Montgomery County Foster Care System. Please find the shopping list on the Outreach table in the vestibule. Donated items can be left in the baskets in the vestibule. Special thank you to Charlie Briggs, who will be keeping an inventory of what we have collected.

Youth Group: Bagels and Bible Middle and high school youth are welcome to gather in the loft after church for a weekly discussion of the Bible with snacks! More info: [email protected].

Bible Study: This week's Bible Study is cancelled. Our study of Exodus will resume next week.

This Week At Christ Church

The Good Book Study Group: Wednesdays 11:30am - 12:45pm through the Easter season. Join us as we dive into the Acts of the Apostles. For more info, contact the Rector ( [email protected]).

The next Women's Fellowship meeting will be Friday, May 18th at 6:30 pm. Winnie Holbrooke has graciously agreed to open her home for us to meet, greet, and eat (9823 Haverhill Drive in Kensington). Please bring your favorite hors d'oeuvre or drink (or both). We will discuss upcoming projects and mill over a potential name change.  Come and spend a Friday of fun and fellowship with us! Kindly RSVP to Aime Keith at [email protected] or 202-230-6160.

Do you speak German, Swahili, Mandarin, or another language other than English?
On May 20th, for our celebration of Pentecost, during each of the services, members of the congregation are invited to read the passage from Acts in various languages - all at once - no need to fear. Please email Nora Buckley ([email protected]) or Madison Chase in the office ([email protected]) if you'd like to participate!

Please join us in the Undercroft on May 20th following the 10 a.m. service for a reception for Pentecost, the Church's Birthday. Help us celebrate and make this occasion festive and delicious by bringing a favorite sweet or savory dish to share. Food can be dropped off in the kitchen before the service. If you're able to help with set up and/or cleanup or have questions, please contact Jane Aylor  ( [email protected]) or Sarah Leung ( [email protected]). Thank you and we look forward to sharing this special day with you!
