Let Us Worship Together
Join us for pre-recorded worship this Sunday at 10am (or watch it later) on YouTube. We will send the exact link over the weekend.

We will take a look at Matthew 25 - when God is hungry, thirsty, homeless, shivering, sick and in prison. We will talk about the wide range of things you/we can do to put our faith into action for others.

Tell someone about our Sunday worship services and Mid~Week Meditations of the last several months and help them find us on our YouTube Channel  (below).

Habitat For Humanity Matching Grant

With 10 Days and $15,000 to go, we need your help! Time is running out to make your donation go twice as far!

When two anonymous individual donors challenged Habitat Saint Louis to raise $40,000 - which they pledged to match dollar for dollar - we jumped at the opportunity! Imagine how much good we can do with a total of $80,000 to build affordable homes in St. Louis.

Safe, affordable housing has never been more important than it is right now, and Habitat Saint Louis is working hard to create opportunities for low-income families right here in St. Louis to buy their first home.

With just 10 days left until the end of the challenge grant, we still need to raise $15,000 to take full advantage of this opportunity. Any gift you can send today will help us reach this goal! Please click on this link to make an online donation before August 31st.

And if you prefer to give by mail, please remember that your gift must be made to our local office at 3830 South Grand Avenue in order to be matched. Every dollar you send to our local affiliate stays right here in St. Louis.

Thank you for sharing our vision of a community made better through affordable housing. I wish you and those you love continuing safety, health and peace in the days and weeks to come.

Sincerely,

P.S. Remember - in order for your gift to count toward our challenge grant and to stay 100% in St. Louis, you must make your gift to our local affiliate at 3830 South Grand Blvd, or online at habitatSTL.org. Thank you so much for supporting local builds and local families!

Hello Kevin and all the wonderful cooks, I can’t say thank you enough for all the wonderful meals the women have been providing us during my recuperation. You can’t believe how wonderful it is for us, as meal preparation is the hardest thing for me to do. Our care givers sy that our church is the most loving and caring and we certainly agree with that. Thank you, Thank you. ~All the best, Naomi and Joe

Thanks to our generous congregants for donating food, socks, underwear, gift cards, and essential personal hygiene products for Isaiah 58 Ministries. All items were greatly appreciated, especially now with job and food insecurity. ~Evelyn Buretta

Hello family and friends,

Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 11am PDT (2pm EDT)
Link to watch ceremony:
https://https://www.youtube.com/universityofphoenix

There will be a program that can be downloaded and shared with family and friends. It will be available the day of the ceremony as well as one month after the ceremony. Also, doctoral graduates will see their dissertation titles and chair names in the program
Immediately following the ceremony, I will show you my cap and gown via a Zoon meeting. Please join me for a little gathering of family and friends.

Also, bring a glass of wine or your favorite drink so we can have toasts. Anyone can make a toast! I will send the link to Zoon prior to t he ceremony. Feel free to share this email with others as you desire. I hope you enjoy the ceremony and I look forward to seeing you afterwards on Zoon.

P.S. “Virtual ceremonies are not meant to replace or even mimic our physical commencements, but rather serve as a compliment to them. We’ll continue to monitor the COVID-19 impact; however we anticipate in-person graduation ceremonies to resume sometime in 2021.”
Love and hugs, Dr. Jo

Prayer for those facing Hurricane Laura
By Maren Tirabassi

God, all of their names
are written on your hands,
not just in a ziploc bag in their pockets.

We pray for those who are evacuated –
for their fears of the virus
in the closeness of shelters
and their anxiety about home.

We pray for those who chose not to leave
and must wait for any assistance.

We pray for those who care for the injured,
rescue those in danger,
worry about friends and family,
begin to wonder about re-building.

We pray for those who still shake
at the memory of Katrina, fifteen years ago.
in wind and storm surge, you are there.
In hotel rooms and gyms, you are there.
In prayers promised, funds given,
brave responders now and those who stay,
even when the news moves on, you are there.

In power outages, you are light.
In the hurricane’s eye,
you dry our tears.
And in the bottom of every pocket
your love is found. amen
