HPS International Night Needs YOU!
|
|
There are so many ways to help and participate...
- Be a representative! Have roots in an interesting country? Visited someplace you'd like to share about? Just have a weird interest in a faraway country? Be creative and and put together a tabletop display to share - that's all there is to it! Time to start Remember representatives get up to $50 to make your display, buy food etc for your country representation. If you would like to represent a country, please email Tina Best besttin@cps-k12.org with your name, your child’s name, and the country you hope to present.
- Buy a shirt! Spread love and kindness by sporting this shirt that celebrates our ONEness! Funds raised will help support the families that so generously give their time, energy and expertise to make our annual International Night such a success! Click here to purchase
- Volunteer your child to be a Customs Agent! We need some mature, responsible students to be helpers/runners aka "customs agents" to help with many things during the evening - handing out passports, guiding visitors around school, emptying trash, etc. If you think your child would be interested contact Tina Best at besttin@cps-k12.org
- Plan to attend. Feb 21, 5-7pm! Come travel all over the world without leaving our HPS building - taste, see and learn!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - OAKLEY DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE
Don’t let the name fool you, there are plenty of ways HPS families can participate in this fun event. This is an Oakley Community event (In February) that Hyde Park School PTO assists by providing communication support and day of event volunteers. This dance allows Fathers/Grandfathers/Friends to enjoy a special night with their daughters dancing the night away underneath the 20th Century Theatre stars. It's a feel good event for all that attend.
There are still a few tickets available to attend the 6:30pm session:

Running Club
was a huge success in the fall of 2018! However, to continue this program, we are planning to rework the registration process and backend organization. We want to ensure not only a great experience for the kids, but a safe environment for everyone involved. WE NEED VOLUNTEER COACHES/RUNNERS. Experience not required! If you are interested in being a parent coach/runner, please contact me ASAP. It will help significantly in the planning process. Registration is delayed until we know if we have enough volunteers to managed the teams.

Eagle of the Week
Eagle of the Week once again goes to an entire team. This time we want to recognize our 4th grade boys basketball team! I've watched these boys play several games and they all play with heart and passion. On January 18th, they reached a pretty significant milestone for youth basketball; every player on the team has scored this season! But this doesn't happen by accident. The boys work hard to improve each week and they've helped each other reach this goal. Their teamwork has truly shined through. Congratulations boys, we are all very proud of you and your accomplishments.
