Virginia's Gateway Region Holds 57th Annual Meeting

Supporters of Virginia's Gateway Region (VGR) looked back on its longtime leader's tenure and looked forward to future success at the economic development group's 57th annual meeting at the Country Club of Petersburg on Wednesday.

The group gave special recognition to Renee Chapline, past president and CEO, for over 13 years of service to the organization. When she joined VGR as executive director in 2005, she became the first woman to run a regional economic development organization in Virginia. During her time with Gateway, the region saw 231 company announcements, more than 20,000 new jobs and around $5.5 billion in capital investment.
Love's Travel Stop Creates 60 Jobs in Prince George County

PRINCE GEORGE - Love's Travel Stops and Country Stores celebrated the opening of their Prince George location on March 2 with a ribbon cutting.

The newest addition to the Hopewell/Prince George Chamber of Commerce, Love's is headquartered in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Prince George site is the 10th Love's store in Virginia. The new store brings 60 jobs to the area.
