FEATURED STUDENTS: Minter Bridge Elementary School's Dolphin Leadership Club
Minter Bridge Elementary School's Dolphin Leadership Club may only be a year-and-a-half old, but they've already had a big impact on the school's culture. Comprising the club members are fifty 5th and 6th grade students who volunteer around the school in a variety of ways: they help with problem-solving during kindergarten and first grade recesses; serve as buddies to students with high needs; assist with small groups in grades K-2; and have even planned school events and presented at assemblies. They facilitated and organized the school's canned food drive in November and December, and planned a Movie Night on January 25. On Tuesday, Jan. 22, the students were recognized at the School Board meeting. They shared a video testimonial featuring parents, staff members, and students; and performed a skit showcasing positive character traits.
