The Fauquier Community Theatre presents:
Much Ado About Nothing

T he Fauquier Community Theatre is pleased to announce its March production of William Shakespeare's MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING, which is one of his best-known and best-loved comedies. The character of Beatrice has long been acclaimed as one of Shakespeare's finest female heroines: strong, opinionated, and a feminist before the word was coined.

For those unfamiliar with the story, Much Ado About Nothing is a romantic comedy, centered around two people (Benedick and Beatrice played by Josh Vest and Hannah Neville) who love each other but who are too stubborn to admit it, even to themselves. Their families conspire to make the match, and hilarity, of course, ensues. There are bumbling police, bad-guy intrigues, songs, mistaken identities, tragic events, and friendships and romances sundered. But have no fear, all is happily resolved- it's a comedy, after all.

Director Will MacLeod has put together a highly talented group of FCT veterans and newcomers who will entertain you with Shakespearan plots, counterplots, and humor. "We chose this play because it's a fun, fast-paced story, and because we would like to dispel the myth that Shakespeare is boring, stuffy and incomprehensible. On the contrary, this show is light and full of laughs, with some memorable and lovable characters that our cast has done a wonderful job of breathing life into", says MacLeod.

The more you dislike Shakespeare, the more you'll be surprised by the knock-down drag-out good time you'll have at this FCT rendition of Much Ado About Nothing. You'll find  zippy timing, laughs in every scene , and most of all, visual punches where none are even written in the script. Its antics are worthy of The Three Stooges in all their lunacy.

Performances will be at the Theatre at Vint Hill, 4225 Aiken Drive, Warrenton, VA on Fridays and Saturdays, March 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24 at 7:30 PM (please note the change of curtain times from previous seasons); and Sundays, March 11, 18 and 25 at 2 PM. The show is being produced by Rodrigo and Rebecca Pool. Order tickets today at www.FCTstage.org .
