Lector gathering after 10am service All lectors and folk who would like to be lectors (readers) are encouraged to stay after the service for 10-15 minutes of conversation with the Emily Guthrie, rector, Nora Buckley, head verger and David Blackman, coordinator of the lectors. We'll have tips, a few tweaks for 10am, revised copies of the best-selling Lector Instructions, plus our eternal gratitude for your ministry, live and in person. Meet at the chancel steps. If you can't join us, this will be repeated Feb. 24th.

Nursery, Children's Chapel and Sunday School Today, we are wondering
about the Holy Spirit's gifts to each one of us and how we can share
Christ's light with other by using our own special gifts.

At 10am
Chapel in the Undercroft (ages 3 through Gr. 5): We will marvel at our
uniqueness through a craft before hearing Paul's Letter to the
Corinthians at Chapel. We will sing "Come Holy Spirit." Cindy Winder
and Ann Enkiri co-lead.

Following the 10am service
Godly Play (PreK and K): Andrea Dorff will present the The Ark and the
Temple. Children will wonder about what makes the Temple sacred
space: what is needed and what may be left our? They will make their
own representations of the Temple.
Living the Good News (Gr. 1-3): Stephanie Feller and the children will
dig into Paul's letter and learn about the Holy Spirit's action in our
lives.
Living the Good News (Gr. 4-5): John Ward and the students will look
closely at Paul's letter and reflect on the Holy Spirit at work
through us in our communities.

Pledge Envelopes Available We are trying something different this year. As many people do not use envelopes, we were trying to assess how many we actually need and not waste dozens. If you use pledge envelopes at any time during the year, that's great! Just call/email/or stop by the office (301-942-4673) and let our Parish Administrator, Peter Hanke know.

Youth group this week will be combined in the Loft Join Madi for a conversation about Joseph and his coat of many colors! What does his story teach us about forgiveness, humility, and the surprising appearance of joy? Middle and high schoolers are invited to come ponder these things and more over snacks.

Communications from the Office There have been two occasions recently when someone has sent emails that appear to be from Emily Guthrie requesting assistance. Please do not respond to those emails. Two ways to check if emails from me are authentic: 1) look at the sender's email address. The imposter emails have in both cases come from a different address, created in gmail, or another provider. My emails will come from [email protected] 2) Not sure? Forward the email to me and ask, or call/text my cell phone, or call the office. Finally, both times the imposter asked for iTunes cards! I won't ever ask for those. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Personnel News Our sexton Lenord Hawkins' schedule has been adjusted from 40 to 32 hours a week. He will work his usual hours 7:00am - 3:00pm on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday. The vestry and rector's decision was based on budgetary needs and more importantly a long needed right sizing of the job. Lenord is a treasured employee who has worked at CC for almost 30 years, we truly appreciate him!

Altar Flower & Sanctuary Candle Dedications Dedicating the Altar Flowers or Sanctuary Candle is a way to remember loved ones who have gone before us, or celebrate a blessing in our lives. If you would like to dedicate the altar flowers or sanctuary candle for a particular Sunday, please sign up on the sheet on the Church Office door and give a donation of $50 for the Altar Flowers or $20 for the sanctuary candle. The office will contact you during the week for the details of your dedication.
