H-GAC Board of Directors Meetings are held at 10:00 a.m. on the third Tuesday of each month. Agendas for all committees can be found on our website Please visit our  calendar  for upcoming meetings and events.

March Board of Directors Meeting

At the March meeting, the H-GAC  Board of Directors unanimously approved Cooperative Purchasing proposals for radio communications, video surveillance and security equipment.  

The Board also authorized submission of applications for Homeland Security Planning activities and juvenile justice services.

In addition, the Board authorized an inter-local agreement with the City of Houston for quick clearance towing and the receipt of funding from TxDOT for Travel Demand Management and Public Education Programs.
Trash Bash Wins Award, Celebrates 25 Years

Trash Bash won the Civic/Community Category for the 2018 Texas Environmental Excellence Awards.  This is a recognition from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.

The  River, Lakes, Bays 'N Bayous Trash Bash celebrates 25 years on  Saturday, March 24.

Since the cleanup event began, 105,800 volunteers have cleaned up 2,189 tons of trash, 10,709 tires, and 16.3 tons of recycling along 1,446 miles of shoreline.

Thousands of volunteers will meet at 14 locations across the Galveston Bay Watershed on March 24. Volunteers get t-shirts, supplies, lunch, and chances to win prizes. Educational exhibits and displays provide a chance to learn more about waterways. Cleanup locations and registration information is available online, or you can contact [email protected].
GIS Expo - Thursday, March 29
Join us for the the Houston Regional GIS Expo on Thursday, March 29 to be held at Houston TranStar located at 6922 Katy Road, Houston, TX  77024 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.   

The goal of  the Geographic Information System Expo is to bring together academics, local government officials and staff, engineers, nonprofit organizations, and other practitioners who are engaged in GIS and related technologies.  Presentations will also feature representatives from several local governments that used GIS to plan for, respond to, and recover from Hurricane Harvey.

The event is FREE and hosted by H-GAC's Geographic Data Workgroup.  Registration is available at

The H-GAC offices will be closed on Friday, March 30 in observance of Good Friday.
2020 Census Training - April 10, 2018
Join us for the  2020 Census Complete Count Committee Formation and Training o n Tuesday, April 10, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the 2nd floor conference rooms.

Come and learn what your city can do to increase its self-response rate. You will receive:
  •  CCC materials including a proposed timeline of activities
  •  A list of suggested CCC committees and strategies
  •  Updates of 2020 Census including operational offices in the DFW area
  •  A demonstration of the Response Area Outreach Mapper (ROAM) which is an interactive web   mapping application  that allows government users to visualize predicted mail  non-response   rates to determine the location of harder to count areas in your city.

2045 RTP Public Meetings are Underway
H-GAC projects that nearly 11 million people will live in our region by 2045. The 2045 Regional Transportation Plan , which prioritizes spending on transportation projects, gives people an opportunity to weigh in on short and long-range strategies as we move forward.  To allow for maximum attendance and involvement, numerous meetings are scheduled throughout the region. To voice your comments about the future of our transportation system, attend an upcoming meeting near you.

TML Region 14 members will meet on Friday, April 20, 2018 for their annual Spring Meeting at Sam Houston Race Park to enjoy an exciting evening of dinner and  live racing.  Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
