Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) is a nonprofit immigration center  that
provides low cost, high quality immigration related legal services and  works to educate communities in eastern Connecticut on immigration law and policy.

Join us as IASC will be here to answer questions and  update you on current legal immigration issues. We will discuss many important steps in the immigration process, including:

How to obtain and renew a green card 

How to obtain a work permit

How to become a citizen

Every Friday night in February the public is invited to join the well received
Black Film historian Lonnie Braxton for a guided film walk through Black History.
 
February 1, 2019: learn about the extraordinary difficulties Black Americans have faced in trying to establish and maintain a middle-class standard of living.

Against All Odds: The Fight for a Black Middle Class.

English classes for those whose native language is not English have been
offered at New London Adult Education since 1910, helping thousands of
adults enter the mainstream of American life.
 
Classes will be held at the Library Monday through Thursday.

Isabelle Smith , Connecticut College botany major, was an intern for the city over the summer documenting the municipal trees (streets, schools and parks). She has spent the fall analyzing the information and will share her results.

Creative Writers of NL County

We are a group of writers who meet up to share, discuss and critique one

Drop in and spend time with other breastfeeding moms, and take an opportunity
to ask our IBCLC, CLC, and Peer Counselor your breastfeeding questions!

Baby Cafe USA is aimed towards new mothers, nursing moms and pregnant
women; however, it is open to everyone who is interested in learning about
how to support breastfeeding.

From 10:30am till 11:30am the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center will be
bringing a live animal to introduce to the children.  We will share a story
about the animal, sing some songs, and learn some simple facts.
