School Based Rehabilitation Services Have Transferred to CTN
The provincial government has transferred oversight of School Based Rehabilitation Services in publicly funded schools from Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) to Children's Treatment Centres (CTCs) across Ontario. CTN will be managing these services in Simcoe, Muskoka, Central Toronto and York Region. There will be no change to the service providers for children currently receiving services in publicly funded schools.

New Temporary Location in Alliston
We have moved to a temporary location at St. John's United Church,
56 Victoria St. E. Alliston. This site will include: Simcoe County Resource Consultation Services, Simcoe County Preschool Speech and Language, Catulpa, CTN and other providers who regularly use our space. Families who access this space should contact their team via email, as phone numbers may change. Feel free to contact your child's team or Debbie Bushby, Local Team Facilitator, at

Self-Regulation Workshop in Newmarket for Parents and Caregivers
Today's children and parents/caregivers are dealing with higher levels of stress than in past generations. This presentation introduces parents to Self-Reg, a powerful method for understanding and responding to their children's (and their own) stress, energy and tension. Join guest speaker, Susan Hopkins from the MEHRIT Centre, for an informative session on February 4th from 12-1pm. Click link for more information and to register.

What is a CTN Local Team Facilitator (LTF)?
The primary role of the LTF is to connect people, purpose and passion to promote inclusion and participation of children and youth with special needs. LTFs promote strong relationships between families, service providers and communities. LTFs play a key role at what you and your child experience in our local communities through events, communication and your local CTN site.

Sledge Hockey Leads to Success On and Off the Ice
Ryan Floyd is a grade 9 student in Stayner. He works hard at school and has many interests. And like many of his peers he loves ice hockey. Because of a physical disability, Ryan has been unable to play typical ice hockey. But this hasn't stopped him from participating from the sport he loves.

Collaborative Program Making Headlines Across the Province!
CTN partnered with the York Region District School Board and Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital to host an innovative and unique program for youth with disabilities. This program provided education and experiential learning opportunities that helped develop confidence, independence and self-advocacy skills. The Ontario Public School Boards' Association recently featured an article about this initiative on their website.
