Get in the race Ambassadors! That was the theme of the 2018 Northern California Chamber Ambassador Rally attended by Chamber Membership Director Linda Vesneski and past Ambassador Chair Wanda Wallis. (Pictured left to right.) This year's event was hosted by the Lodi Chamber of Commerce on April 26 and 27 at The Merlot Performance & Event Venue. The annual rally brought more than 150 Ambassadors together from all over Northern California to share ideas that will enhance their teams, network, hear from engaging keynote speakers, and take in what makes the host city so special. As Lodi is the largest grape growing region in the state, the Ambassadors enjoyed sampling some great wines before heading out to explore Lodi with newly made friends.

Vanessa Sisemore is the owner of a local Farmers Insurance Agency in Walnut Creek as well as a long time resident of Walnut Creek. She has grown up in our town since the age of five and because she has witnessed first hand the incredible growth of the town she holds so dear, becoming a proud member of the Chamber was a must when she opened her agency. Shortly after becoming a Chamber member, she joined the
Ambassador Committee as a way to meet all the fantastic people among the business community. Since becoming an Ambassador, Vanessa extended her commitment even further as the Co-Chair of the Ambassador Committee to grow a stronger relationship with our Chamber Members and the community as a whole. Assemblywoman Catharine Baker
, 16th District, is hosting a Women's Self-defense Workshop in partnership with the Lafayette Police Department, Lafayette Crime Prevention Commission, and the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department on Saturday, May 5th at 10:00am at Acalanes High School. The workshop will run until 11:15 or 11:30am, with safety tips from the Sheriffs' Department, some hands-on self-defense training, and a few words from Catharine about what's being done in the Assembly to improve public safety.
