President's Message
Happy New Year! Many of us have made resolutions for 2019, while others of us may have grown cynical that resolutions are a meaningless past-time. In reality, resolutions are just a set of choices with a big picture in mind. Whatever choices you make, be grateful that you have them. We rise each day in the greatest republic that has ever existed, so for that reason alone it is indeed another happy new year and another opportunity to make choices. Here is my challenge to you - how will you
choose
to use your voice?
Looking back to 1787, Benjamin Franklin was asked, as he emerged from the Constitutional Convention, whether we had a republic or a monarchy. An interesting side note is that the question was posed by a woman named Mrs. Powel who had gathered with others outside Independence Hall in Philadelphia. Without hesitating he replied,
“
a republic, if you can keep it
.”
Whether we can keep our republic depends upon each of our voices, as well as the choices that we make. As your incoming President, I am grateful to those of you who have made the choice to join this incredible federation of women and supportive men resolved to make our voices effective in government. There are some strong voices on the left that threaten our republic by seeking to remove the electoral college or creating social programs that punish success, unduly burden the working class, and further grow our national debt. Those voices should not just be counter-balanced, but they should be drowned out by the voices of reason on the right. With that goal in mind, let’s make a resolution together. Let's all work to recruit new members and stay involved. Remember that 2020 is right around the corner. If you have not renewed your membership, please do so now. Resolve now to strengthen those voices on the right and help us keep our republic. God bless.
