DPI AODA Grant Opportunity

The Student Services Prevention and Wellness Team has just released the AODA 2019-2021 grant announcement. Eligible applicants are WI Public Schools Districts. Applications are due to  DPIAODA.Grant@dpi.wi.gov by 11:59 pm Friday, April 19, 2019.

New Products: Suorin Vape


We have been hearing from a number of middle and high staff about a variety of vaping devices that can go undetected unless you know what to look for. Word has been out for a while on JUUL devices are, trending now is the Suorin Drop and other products (pictured on the right). E-cigarettes come in many shapes and sizes.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services has released a public health advisory on youth e-cigarette use in response to new data from the 2018 Wisconsin Youth Tobacco Survey (YTS). Read more on Wisconsin Data in the MS Fact Sheet and HS Fact Sheet. The Surgeon General has also recently released an Advisory on E-cigarette Use Among Youth.

YRBS Updates

The YRBS Online survey window is now open.  There is still time to register to survey during the spring 2019 survey window from January 7-March 29, 2019. Going forward, the survey will only be offered every other spring (January to March 2019, 2021, etc.).

DPI and partners developed videos to help proctor the surveys:
