I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the many individuals who made this year’s NAP Forum, Interprofessional Collaborative Practice: Advocacy for Population Health, a tremendous success! This year brought a record number of attendees to the conference with a successful educational advocacy initiative on Capitol Hill!

Participant energy was high throughout the Forum with outstanding keynote speakers who offered thoughtful and provocative presentations to stimulate our thinking, invited peer-reviewed presentations and posters that offered contemporary thinking and scholarship about interprofessional collaborative practice models and advocacy for population health, and person-centered quality healthcare. Intentional networking sessions provided opportunities for facilitated interprofessional engagement and socialization.

The Induction Ceremony and Awards event ushered in 69 new distinguished fellows and professional members with four prestigious awards presented to members and collaborative practice teams who distinguished themselves above and beyond. The more than 100 members and leaders who volunteered their time, energy, and expertise throughout the year to address the many aspects of this meeting are the organization’s lifeblood and heroes! Without these individuals, along with our outstanding AMR staff partners, 15 enthusiastic sponsors, and the Josiah Macy Jr Foundation support, this Forum would not have been possible. Clearly, NAP embodies interprofessional collaborative teamwork and the results are exceptional!

Response Requested Today for Volunteers with Expertise Related to the Opioid Epidemic
We are seeking a representative volunteer from each of the 14 Academies to serve on a NAP Task Force to prepare an interprofessional response to a National Academy of Medicine call for an Organizational Commitment Statement on Countering the U. S. Opioid Epidemic. The deadline for submitting a response is by April 15, 2019.

To assist with this process, we are seeking individuals who have worked with or been involved with individuals, patients, families and others and the opioid crisis. If you have served on an interprofessional collaborative care team that has managed individuals and their families involved with opioids interprofessionally, your expertise would also be extremely valuable.

To learn more about the National Call for Commitment Statements on Countering the US Opioid Epidemic, please review the details provided below:

If you are interested in serving on this committee, please submit your name, credentials, title, academy, email, phone, and one paragraph summarizing your background/expertise related to the opioid epidemic to Melanie Bowzer ( MBowzer@AMRMS.com ) by close of business today. We are looking for one representative from each academy and will be setting up at least 2 conference calls over the next two weeks to draft NAP’s commitment in response to this call to be shared with leadership for final approval prior to submission by the required deadline.
Invitation to Participate in NAP Pilot Survey
As part of the NAP Strategic Plan, the NAP Strategic Plan IPE/IPCP Shared Work Group was formed. The group has developed a survey tool and repositories for information sharing, new research initiatives, replication and shared dissemination of evidence-based outcomes from interprofessional work. The survey tool will be used to collect information you wish to share with other NAP members to encourage collaboration and resource sharing across Academies. As a NAP member, you are invited to participate! Please use the below link to access the survey. Estimated time of survey completion is approximately 10-15 minutes. Information will then be posted to the File Library folders of the Members community within myNAP , which can be accessed using your NAP login information. We appreciate your participation!
