Join us for WCCA's monthly general meeting--the first of the new year-- this Wednesday, January 16th at 7:30am, in the Benchmark Theater at 40 West Arts Gallery located at 1560 Teller Street 80214.

Wednesday's program includes:
1) an overview of results from the end-of-year WCCA survey ;

2) an update from Charles Davis, the lead organizer of the Northeast Lakewood Advocates ; and

3) a snapshot report from the BID on the West Colfax Vision Implementation Group and the next steps with the 2040 Vision Plan .

Members and friends are encouraged to attend WCCA meetings to network and hear the latest news from elected officials, civic and neighborhood leaders, and local business owners. Enjoy free coffee and breakfast items. Meetings start promptly at 7:30am and wrap up by 9am.

40 West ArtLine Honored with 2019 Award from CBCA
The 40 West ArtLine was named a recipient of the 2019 Business for the Arts Award by the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts.

This is a statewide award that honors organizations, companies, and individuals demonstrating the power of arts to advance the states economy and strengthen community vitality. The 40 West ArtLine is located along West Colfax in Lakewood and was built in collaboration with the City of Lakewood, 40 West Arts District, and a host of local partners. This four-mile walking and biking arts experience celebrates art while connecting parks, businesses and neighborhoods with 70+ art installations along the route.

Celebrate Lakewood's 50 Years With Pop-Up Parties

For Lakewood’s 50 th  Anniversary celebration, the city plans to bring the party just about anywhere! Starting this month, they will be throwing surprise Pop-up Parties in the community to dazzle residents when least expected.

You never know where or when these parties could happen. It could be at the Bear Creek Lake Park swim beach, on stage at the Lakewood Cultural Center, or maybe right here along West Colfax. Just be ready for a quick 20-minute celebration – anywhere!

RMCAD To Host Artist Cécile B. Evans For Fictions Lecture Series On January 15
 
Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design will host artist Cécile B. Evans  on January 15, 2019. 
 
Evans' talk, titled Lecture: Feeling For You, touches on the rise of digital technology, the disorienting feedback loops it creates within society, and the historical relationship between humans and machines.
 
Evans questions the last few years of her own work, including projects such as Sprung A Leak, What the Heart Wants, and Amos' World. Mark you calendar for this MUST-SEE event!

WestFax Brewing Company Releasing Limited Run of Two Incredible IPAs

WestFax Brewing Company is releasing its first-ever run of 16oz cans with two different IPAs (Hazy & Brut). This is a limited run of 100 cans of each beer . . . see the beer info below!

First up is the Urban Lumberjack Hazy IPA , described as a, "juicy and tropical IPA with notes of orange, nectarine and mango".

Next up is the Just Brut It Brut IPA , an IPA described as "crisp, light, and dry with notes of tropical fruit including melon and white grape".

Original artwork designs on these cans were created by local artists d rawing from Nature & Noelle Phares Art .
