Motion Graphics students are delivering more "customer projects" than anytime before. Student work displaying both print and motion media are in the MVROP lobby's glass display case, lobby media TV, and outdoor marquee facing the corner of Stevenson and Blacow. Projects like these are testing their skills at delivering multiple formats, (.avi, .mov, and .mp4) resolutions, (HD, Blu-Ray, 4K) and aspect ratios (4:3, 16:9, 1:1).
Students are succeeding at meeting deadlines. In this process they're discovering tricks and techniques about how to create master files that allow them to adjust to the wide variety of needs in the current graphics market place.
Digital Sound Design students are also focusing on "customer projects" via collaboration with Game Design, Animation, and Video. These collaborations are helping the audio students realize the importance of capturing the best media possible when in production versus "fixing it in the mix". S
mall production groups are being formed with students focusing on their desired area of expertise. These groups include set-up, production, and performers. E
quipment that was recommended and approved by the Advisory Committee is coming in and training methods are being developed for each new tool as it arrives. This opportunity has been a good challenge and the students are taking on leadership roles, learning new technologies, and training.
