Connections - January 9 - Second Thursday
"Windows into Heaven"
Icons are sometimes called "Windows into Heaven" or "the Gospel in color." They have the capacity to draw us deeper into relationship with God. In this presentation we will contemplate several important icons and let them lead us into prayer. The Rt. Rev. Jeffrey D. Lee is the twelfth bishop of the Diocese of Chicago serving since February 2008. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Nashotah House Seminary. He and his wife, Lisa Rogers Lee, have two children, Katherine and Jonathan.
5:30-6:15PM- Supper in the McClain Room
6:15-7:15PM - Program/Discussion in the Lea Room
Childcare provided for all ages of children.

Recap of 2040 Co. Presentation on Sunday Morning
After the 9:30AM service in the Sanctuary the 2040 Committee will be offering a recap of their presentation on Tuesday night. Come learn of the committee's discernment process and how it started and ended with asking how God is calling CCW to be a community of faith in the Episcopal tradition. The Committee concluded that God is calling on CCW's abundance to bear witness to God's presence in our lives and to take action to ensure our vitality and long-term sustainability.

The winter theme is FOLK DANCING AROUND THE WORLD. Our wonderful instructor is parishioner and dance professional Amanda MacDonald. We have had children join us for class before and it's been lots of fun, so we hope you will think about coming and bringing your child (ages Kindergarten and up.)
The fee for adults is $80 for the 8 week session or $15 per class on a drop-in basis. Children age 5-10 dance free when they bring an adult and for ages 11+ the fee is half price. Just come early before class to register.

We are excited to announce our mission trip destination this summer is APPALACHIA. It is a region rich in beauty and culture, but suffering in rural poverty. We will help and learn from local Appalachians, while taking in the treasured mountainous terrain. We will stay at and work under the guidance of the expansive and established Red Bird Mission
in Beverly, Kentucky, which is located in the midst of Daniel Boone National Forest. Accommodations include air-conditioned dorms, a cafeteria, and outdoor and indoor common spaces. There will be four work days
, during which we will complete a repair or rebuild project (Click here for daily schedule). On the drive down and during free time, we will explore with fun excursions. Dates: June 13-20, 2020. We hope you will join Megan Miller and Christopher Powell for what will be a meaningful and memorable journey. For more information or if you would like to sign-up, contact [email protected].
