Nominations are now being accepted for the 2019 AALAS Awards. The six awards that require nominations are the

February 1 is the deadline for Vice President-Elect nominees to submit the online Candidate Experience Form. March 15 is the deadline for Trustee or Alternate Trustee nominees to submit the online application and nominating petition. Click

for complete details and form links. After the candidacy of all applicants is confirmed, the names will be disclosed to the membership.
Board of Trustee positions open are:
- Trustees for District 5, 6, and 8
- Trustee for At-Large seat 3
- Alternate Trustees for Districts 4, 7, and 8
Please note, the Nominations Committee is seeking members with global experience for At-Large Trustee seat 3. All terms commence at the close of the AALAS National Meeting in the year of the election.

The Janet Wood Innovation Award contest encourages the design of a new product that will promote one of the 3Rs. Datesand, the sponsoring company of the contest, will manufacture and promote the new product to the international biomedical industry. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2019. Tech Week! Submit to
LAS Pro
Want to be a part of your association's magazine?
LAS Pro
will be accepting photos and recaps from your Tech Week celebrations to feature in the June magazine.
Submit 1-2 photos (must be 300 DPI jpegs or tiffs) and a 75-100 word recap of your event to
laspro@aalas.org
.

will offer a cover contest again!
We
are looking for a June cover photo that highlights the 2019 Tech Week celebrations. Please note, cover images require special composition:
- Photographs must be submitted in a vertically framed shot.
- No more than two people should be featured.
- Room must be left in the image for text overlays.
- Photos must be sent as jpeg or tifs at 300 DPI and measuring 8.75" x 11.125".

Order the January, February, and March Webinars

The January 23 webinar,
Mouse Anesthesia: Using Science to Improve the Process
, will be held from 12:00-1:30 PM CT. This webinar will focus on the challenges of safely and effectively anesthetizing mice, the science and data behind some of these challenges, and improvements of anesthesia protocols, monitoring, and interventions.
February's webinar is
Mice, Mice Baby: Normal Behavior in the Laboratory Mouse
and will be held on February 27 from 12:00-1:30 PM CT. This webinar will familiarize the audience with the natural history and normal behaviors of the domesticated house mouse and its wild counterpart so that the appropriate measures can be implemented to alleviate stress and provide biologically relevant enrichments in their captive environment.

Interested in training for technicians at your facility? AALAS has launched a new resource that provides training on important topics in a short, easily digestible format. Technician Training Shorts make group training sessions more fun and worthwhile by using games to reinforce learning.
