Young Authors' Program
If your child has an interest in writing and illustrating an original book and you are able to provide the necessary support, please encourage participation in this program!
The participation & planning form is due by Tuesday, January 22.

Staff-Sponsored Fundraiser
Our annual Bassett staff-sponsored fundraiser starts Monday, January 14. This fundraiser will benefit
Make a Wish
and Bassett's One School, One Book program.
This year we are selling magazine subscriptions and renewals. Students will attend a brief assembly and bring home information on Monday.
Student Council Meeting
If your child is a Student Council officer or representative, there is a meeting on Tuesday, January 15 at 7:20 am in the Bassett library.

January Star Player
Congratulations to
Jen Jones for being our Bassett PTA Star Player for January!
Jen has been an active Bassett PTA member for many years and has held many different PTA positions, including Recording Secretary, Summer Math and Reading, Book Fair, and VP for Fundraising.
This year, Jen is our Treasurer and is hard at work communicating with every committee. It is a busy behind the scenes job and we are very appreciative of her hard work. Thank you, Jen!
Jen will be recognized at the Westlake Council of PTAs meeting on Wednesday along with the star players from the other Westlake PTA units.

Nominations due by Jan. 16
Founders' Day is the opportunity to recognize and thank individual PTA members who have made a difference in our children's lives. You are encouraged to nominate someone who deserves to be recognized.

The Founders' Day awards are:
- Ohio PTA Achievement Award
(One award is given by
each Westlake PTA unit: Bassett, Dover, Hilliard, Holly Lane, DIS, LBMS, WHS, Early Childhood, Council.)
- Outstanding District Educator Award
(One award is given by Westlake Council of PTAs, representing all Westlake PTA units. Nominees may include principals, teachers, counselors and other certified educators.)
Nominations are due by
Wednesday, January 16. Nominees and nominators must be current PTA members.

SCREENAGERS

Westlake Council of PTAs is proud to present Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age
on Thursday, January 31 at 6:00 pm at the Westlake Schools Performing Arts Center.
Screenagers
is a documentary film by Delaney Ruston that addresses struggles over social media, video games, and internet addiction. The film empowers kids to best navigate the digital world and provides parental r
esources to help them do it.
After the film, there will be a question & answer session facilitated by counselors.

Talent Show for PreK-Grade 12
Westlake High School PTSA proudly presents the 34th Annual Green & White Revue talent show on March 1 and 2 at 7:00 pm at the Westlake Schools Performing Arts Center.
The Green & White Revue provides an opportunity for students throughout the Westlake City School District to showcase their many talents for the community!
