Spectrum Launches Spectrum Internet Gig in Dallas, El Paso, Wichita Falls, Waco and Beaumont Markets
Charter Communications, Inc. on April 25 announced the launch of Spectrum Internet Gig in Dallas, El Paso, Wichita Falls, Waco and Beaumont, featuring the deployment of DOCSIS 3.1 internet services delivering a 1 Gbps connection to the customer’s home.
Spectrum Internet Gig is now available to approximately 23 million homes in a growing number of markets and will be available throughout virtually all of Spectrum’s 41-state service area by the end of 2018.

Charter Spectrum employees repair East Austin homes
Recently 65 Charter Spectrum employee volunteers, with Rebuilding Together, Spectrum’s non-profit home repair partner, made critical repairs to four homes in East Austin on April 14 and handed out 252 free “Safe and Healthy Home” Kits at a nearby elementary school. The kits include $100 worth of items including a first aid kit, smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, weather radio, all weather sealant and cleanser wipes. State Rep. Eddie Rodriguez, who lives in the neighborhood, made comments to media. This project is part of the
Spectrum Housing Assist
program, which aims to improve 50,000 homes in the United States by 2020.

Comcast increases internet speeds for some video customers in Houston
Comcast announced on April 25 it is increasing the speeds of its Xfinity Internet service packages for millions of video and internet customers, including those Houston.
Speed increases will vary based on the Xfinity Internet customers’ current speed subscriptions. Those receiving the speed boost will benefit from an increase of 30 to 40 percent in their download speeds. Existing Xfinity Internet and X1 video customers subscribing to certain packages can expect to experience enhanced speeds this month.

The Houston Region Celebrates Comcast Cares Day
On April 21, more than 2,600 volunteers registered to make change happen in Houston for Comcast’s annual Cares Day. Houston Region employees, along with their family and friends, as well as dozens of community volunteers, impacted 11 projects sites across the city. Adding to this year’s activities was the Cares Day Blood Drive and Kids’ Meal Project, which provided an opportunity for employees to donate resources to aid needy patients and color lunch bags for underprivileged children. Throughout the Houston area, Comcast employee volunteers worked to impact the community through a variety of project sites.
