As Mardi Gras gets into full swing, we are asking that if  anyone catches stuffed animals at the parades and are not going to keep them,  please donate them to Shir Chadash.

We are collecting them for the Jefferson Parish Sheriffs department .  Please bring any unwanted stuffed animals to the synagogue and place into box located in the hallway.  Thanks,
 

Open Shabbat - Puppet Pals!

A family program.  Bring a puppet (or two) to meet other puppets and their pals and we'll see what we can get up to!  We'll finish with some singing and Havdalah.

Purim, Panorama & Pizza

Join us for some real Purim fun!

A kids' costume parade with prizes will start at 6:00 pm, followed by a theatrical megillah reading by guest reader Daniel Olson.
 
At approximately 7:00 pm, let's get this party started! A special introduction (shhh, it's a surprise!) will be followed by  a Second Line led by Panorama Jazz Band.
 
From then until 9:00 pm, eat pizza   generously provided by Pizza Nola,  dance and make merry!

Babysitting will be available.

LimmudFest 2018
March 16 - March 18, 2018
 
LimmudFest, a weekend festival of Big Tent Jewish arts, culture, spirituality and learning, returns to New Orleans in March! LimmudFest 2018 will feature over 90 presentations across 10 learning tracks, including featured presenters such as renowned author Rabbi Dayna Ruttenberg; writer, professor and curator Joel Dinerstein; New Testament scholar Rabbi Michael Cook; and food expert and radio personality Poppy Tooker. With a lineup of quality children's programming, parents can learn for themselves and be confident that their children will also experience the magic of LimmudFest. This year, LimmudFest's celebration includes a Shabbaton at Congregation Gates of Prayer on Friday and Saturday, and more learning and cultural programs at the newly expanded Uptown JCC on Saturday night and Sunday.
