Dorothy Vance Olmsted 1936 - 2019       
Dorothy was born in a stable converted to a hospital in Wadsworth, Ohio, on July 29, 1936, to Wayne Miller Vance and Thelma Ruth Bunner.

After graduating from Wadsworth High School, Dorothy married John Hafer Olmsted on November 22, 1953.   John died May 2005.   Seven children were born:  Christina Langer, Esq., St. Louis, Mo., Christopher (Alice) Olmsted, Chicago, Ill., Janis (Steve) Harper, Kingsman, Ariz., James (Marilyn) Olmsted, Newport News, Va., Deborah Olmsted, Ironton, Mo., Douglas Olmsted, Moneta, Va., and Karen (Larry) Spiewak, Milwaukee, Wis.   In addition to her children, she is survived by a brother, Donald (Lydia) Vance, Wadsworth, Ohio; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Dorothy died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 2 p.m. at Northside Christian Church, 1300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, Va.   Visitation will begin at 1 p.m.
