Bid Opening!

The public bid opening for the new library's site work and building construction was conducted on
September 2nd at Morgan's Grove Park. Apparent low bidders are Kinsley Construction for site work and Hoar Construction for the new library building. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and recent hurricane activity, bids were higher than anticipated. Initial contract discussions with Kinsley Construction are scheduled for this Friday, September 18th. It is expected that, at long last, site work will begin in October!

Join Wonder Woman this Month and Lasso a New Library Card!
In celebration of Library Card Sign-up Month, meet us in front of the library on Saturday, September 19th from 10 am to 1 pm - weather permitting. All you need to bring is a valid ID with local address information to complete your application for a new library card (5 years and older). Kids are invited to pick up a free "take-and-make" activity kit and show off their new library cards in front of our photo background!
Take the Misty Mountain Challenge!

Remember Bilbo Baggins in J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit? Adults ages 16 and older are invited to take the Misty Mountain Challenge! Track the amount of time you spend exercising in one month, and see how far you can get compared to Bilbo’s journey to
and from the Lonely Mountain.
Visit the Shepherdstown Library to pick up an exercise log beginning Monday, September 21st, and return your completed log by Saturday, October 31st at 4 pm. If you have logged 40 hours of exercise time, you will be entered into a raffle for a new Fitbit provided with funding by FOSL! Log 45 hours and you will earn an additional raffle entry form!
