Happy Spring everyone!

Here is your spring newsletter, this is only the second newsletter we've sent out this year and would like to announce our new whisky pairing dinner and to give everyone a whisky update.

As you are all aware Fets Whisky Kitchen was host to Canada's largest whisky raid in over 90 years. On the morning of Thursday January 18th the authorities came in and seized 242 bottles of some of the rarest whisky on earth. Although all taxes and duties were collected by, and or paid to, the government they still felt the need for the seizure. Acting on a "complaint", the government conducted an investigation that started in the first week of December and resulted in the raid 6 weeks later. The bottles in question were that of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society. A complaint was made against one of the 3 partner bars on Vancouver Island and the investigation spilled over to us in Vancouver. The whisky is being stored in a secured undisclosed location and will hopefully be returned to us in the near future following the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.  We are fighting hard for the return of our whisky and have the support of our industry and community alike.

Whisky Dinner Monday May 14th @7pm

It's Whisky Pairing Dinner-time with Balvenie.

On Monday May 14th Jaimie Johnson, Balvenie's Canadian Brand Ambassador, will be in town to host our second dinner of the year.

Jaimie has been spreading the Balvenie gospel since joining the Balvenie family in January 2017. Prior to joining Balvenie Jaimie was conducting whisky tastings throughout the Toronto for a number of years and is the co-host of a popular whisky podcast; The Whisky Topic.

The Balvenie, established in 1892, is just one of the many distilleries in Seyside's famed Dufftown, "The Distillery Capital of the World". Located just up the hill from Craigellachie beside the Glefiddich distillery this little gem has the capacity to put out a mere 7 million litres per year.

Chef Thien and his team are, once again, creating 5 stunning dishes to pair with these great whiskies. This will be a most memorable night.

This is sure to be another great night of food, whisky and distillery tales.

Why not grab one of our limited tickets and join us on Monday May 14th for some great whisky and food.

Tickets are limited and I can assure you, as always, they sell out fast.

Be sure to plan for a safe ride home!

The cost for this event is only $85
