The gambit seemed altogether less risky because the NHL's Golden Knights hockey team general manager is George McPhee, an RU-Law in Newark graduate and former long-time professional hockey player. Ahead of the NHL All-Star game (1-28 in Tampa Bay), McPhee's creation has one of the best records in the league. McPhee, above on the right, previously was the general manager of the Washington Capitals from 1997 to 2014, surrounding superstar Alex Ovechkin, whom he drafted, with a supporting cast that made the team a perennial contender.
