Message from Governor Andrew M. Cuomo
Dear Fellow New Yorker,

I delivered my eighth State of the State address as Governor. In it, I outlined our priorities for the coming year, the challenges we face, and our plans to tackle them.

New York faces unprecedented challenges in 2018, including a federal government that is rolling back progress at every turn. But I promise you this: New York won't back away from our progressive values.

The federal government took aim at New York's economy with their partisan tax bill. But New York is fighting back: we plan to sue the federal government and challenge the GOP tax law as unconstitutional to prevent the double taxation of New Yorkers.

In my address, I also proposed bold action to curb sexual harassment in the workplace, keep our elections safe from foreign actors, lead the fight against climate change, and reform our criminal justice system.

New York will show the nation that progressive and inclusive policies don’t just sound good—they work.

We know that our diversity is our strength, and we won’t stop working toward our progressive vision for New York State.

Ever Upward,

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo
