Re-enrollment for 2019-2020 School Year

We always value our returning students, as they form an experienced base for our classes, serving as "leaders" and role models to the new students who will join us in the fall. In addition, we value returning families, as you contribute to the ever-growing sense of community at our school!

In-house enrollment ends Wednesday, January 16th. We open to wait list children on January 17th and the public on Friday, January 18th (Open House).  Re-enrollment information packs are located in the front office or visit our website to download your copies!

Refer a new student who enrolls, and receive a $100.00 credit on your account!
MMS 2018 Middle School
Engineering Fair

It is with great pride and honor that we announce the participation of the Millhopper Montessori Middle School students in the 2018 Engineering Fair.

Our seventh and eighth grade students have worked hard creating projects that utilize the design process and further their understanding of problem solving techniques, product research, design methods, the importance of redesign, and reporting.

On Tuesday, December 11th the students presented their projects to our very knowledgeable volunteer judges, as well as the first through sixth grade students.

Makerfication Challenge

On Thursday, December 20th (the last day of school before Winter Break), Ms. Sylvia Aslanian and Ms. Joanne McFarland coordinated a Makerfication Challenge  for 1st - 8th graders at the suggestion of Ms. Christina Miller.  This challenge  lasted all morning, and encouraged the students to use a minimal amount of materials to build a tower that could support weight.

Points were given for the height of the tower, how much weight it could hold, and the aesthetics of the tower.  Several MMS alumni came to the school to judge the towers based on these criteria, and teams could see their progress on the class Leaderboards. Points and extra materials were also given to teams who could correctly answer Side Quest Challenge questions, incorporating student research and knowledge.

It was a very successful event and garnered the interest of the The Gainesville Sun and WCJB TV20, who came to report on the students progress and thoughts about the challenge!  Below are the links:
