From the ICF-NJ President
Welcome to an amazing New Year! ICF-NJ is gearing up and ready to go for YOU in 2018. We're excited about the possibilities this year, and I'm honored to be your President. First, thanks to Renee Robertson for her leadership this last year and the rest of the 2017 Board for setting the stage for 2018. Your new board met the weekend of January 13 to strategize and set our 2018 goals. We drilled down on answering the question "How do we provide significant value to our member coaches?" After several hours of extremely lively discussion, we arrived at three specific focus areas for the year.
- Develop Coaches - by fostering your professional development (education/skills/competencies);
- Support Practices - by promoting ways to support you in growing your businesses;
- Cultivate Community - by building a deep, lasting community where coaches can share, learn, and grow.
We're now working diligently to create specific goals, strategies and action plans around these three focus areas. Some things already on our radar are upgrades to our website to ensure a more user-friendly experience, more experiential in-person events, and a celebration of our 20th year as a Charter Chapter of the ICF. Stay tuned for more details!
How can you help? So glad you asked:
- Please share your input to this process: Reach out to a board member at one of our monthly meetings or Community Group meetings, give one of us a call, or drop any one of us an email. All board members are empowered to bring your thoughts to our planning. You can find the board and our contact information here https://icf-nj.org/about/contact-us/.
- We invite you to get involved: Your involvement will pay big dividends for our organization, and for you personally and professionally. We look forward to finding a role for you that grows and stretches you. You'll find several volunteer opportunities mentioned in this newsletter. We've much to do and so appreciate any help you can provide. Please email or call me or any board member with your interest.
- Come to an event! Our monthly webinars and in-person events offer opportunities for networking, learning and engagement in the coaching profession. If the meetings are difficult for you to attend, consider attending one of our many local Community Group meetings around the state.
My personal hopes for ICF-NJ this year are that we build connection and community throughout our thriving, supportive membership, and a Board that brings our mission statement to fruition.
I wish you all an exciting 2018 filled with learning and success, and look forward to seeing you all soon.
Finally, please join me in welcoming Sarah Jack who has recently been voted onto our 2018 Board as Membership Director. You can read her bio and see her smiling face in the next section of the newsletter.
Warmly,
Andrea Harvey
2018 ICF-NJ President

Greetings from Your Secretary/Director of Communications
With our focus on building an even greater sense of community among our membership, there's going to be an even greater emphasis on communications than ever before. That's both exciting and daunting. We need writers, editors and especially those comfortable with social media. I'm looking for volunteers to help with Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and this newsletter. If you're experienced in the above, or just are willing to learn more about them by jumping in and doing, we want to hear from you! Please give me a shout at
[email protected].
Thanks!

Greetings from Your Sponsorship Director
Our objective for inviting sponsors to partner with ICF-NJ is to help increase our members' visibility as professional coaches and fund our chapter activities. And we're calling on you - our member coaches - to help ICF-NJ in this arena! I invite you to contact me at [email protected] if you:
- Can recommend a NJ business as a potential event sponsor if they'd value exposure to ~300 world-class coaches around NJ.
- Want to advertise your own coaching-related business on our website or in this newsletter (1,200 subscribers!), sponsor an event, or partner another way. You'll get 10% discount off our already reasonable sponsor fees as a member!
- Want to volunteer to help me attract new sponsors and increase our visibility!
