The November 2017 NYC Venture Capital and Early Stage Funding Report
Funding was very strong in New York for the month of November with total funding reaching $825M for the month, representing 25.1% of all US funding. Late stage and Series A funding was particularly strong. Of note for Series A rounds, there was an unusually large round that did skew the statistics up but even with exclusion of that round, the Series A landscape in New York was fertile, representing 26% of all national Series A funding. On the later stage rounds, New York came in at a whopping 36.45% of total US late stage rounds. There was not one or two particular rounds that led to this; it was across a number of healthy fundings for NYC startups. US funding was down sharply in November to $3.3B raised across rounds.
