Hello fellow campers,

Thirty years ago, while serving on active duty, I injured my back and had surgery to remove a ruptured disc. Now, thirty years later with lots more wear and tear, more discs in my lower back are collapsing. On 1 May I am having surgery to relieve pressure on the nerve and to have a plate and pins put in to help space the discs. Driving the RV got more difficult as the injury worsened. I went from being able to drive about 300 miles a day the last couple years to only about 100 miles now, before needing to stop and stand up to relieve the pain. Hopefully my recovery will go well as we have some RV trips planned for later this summer. It will be interesting to see how driving goes after the surgery. If driving is still a problem we will spend more time in our stationary 5th wheel at the beach.

Enjoy the newsletter, and if you have family or friends who like RVs and the RV lifestyle share with them.

Happy Camping in 2018.

When you purchase a new RV the dealership usually gives you what is referred to as a starter kit. The starter kit is typically made up of an RV drinking water hose, a sewer drain hose, a roll of RV toilet paper and some holding tank treatments. It's a nice gesture, but you will quickly discover you cannot go camping and properly set the RV up at the campground with these limited supplies. In fact, there are many other products you will need, to make all of your RV trips more enjoyable. There are what I refer to as RV essential items and nice to have items. To assist you in being better prepared for any and all camping scenarios you can download my RV essential items list today.
