  • Steamboat Springs Middle School – Bennett Colvin
  • Steamboat Springs High School – Morgan Kraska

Deirdre Boyd , a teacher at Steamboat Springs High School, has been named the 2018 Colorado History Teacher of the Year, an award presented annually by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to K-12 American history education. Read more

Congratulations to Joey Andrew (Steamboat school board president) and Brandon LaChance (North Routt Community Charter School principal) for being named to Steamboat Springs' top 20 under 40 in 2018. This honor is given to 20 rising leaders younger than 40 who live and work in Steamboat Springs, who have achieved professional success, and have a track record of contributing to the community and making a real difference in the lives of the people around them.

Momentum at the middle school.
Bearware! Can you spot the visitor checking out construction at the middle school?
The demolition phase of the middle school HVAC project and classroom remodel is coming to a close as duct, hydronic pipe, and interior framing and flooring goes in.
Tracking progress at Gardner Field.
Over the past few weeks, the field turf was removed and regraded, and a new shock pad and the new turf were installed. Final detailing of turf has begun; all lines, boundaries, hashmarks, and school logo have been added!

Construction workers are braving the heat wave to make significant progress on re-roofing projects at Strawberry Park Elementary School, Steamboat Springs High School, and the 7th Street building! The roofing project at the middle school is also getting underway.
About the SSSD Construction Projects
With the generous support of Steamboat Springs taxpayers, improvements will be made to District facilities from May 2018 to October 2018

  • Roofs will be replaced at Steamboat Springs High School (SSHS), Steamboat Springs Middle School (SSMS), Strawberry Park Elementary School, 7th Street District office, and the transportation facility.

  • The heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system will be upgraded at SSMS.

  • An existing space within SSMS will be renovated this summer to create four new classrooms that will help relieve overcrowding at the school.*

  • Significant improvements will be made to Gardner Field at SSHS.
