Quilts of Valor

A Quilt of Valor is our award to those who have been touched by war. It says "thank you for your service, sacrifice and valor" in serving our nation. If you would like to participate in this local sewing group, please join us on any or all dates to work on your own Quilt of Valor or to assist others with their quilts.

Simple WhatNots Club

Come join the Kim Diehl "Simply Whatnots Club" for 2020. Henry Glass and Kim Diehl bring you the next collection of the loved Simple Whatnots Club, featuring Kim's new fabric collection "Ester's Heirloom Shirtings". This club has changed to an annual club and Kim has created EIGHT new simple and beautiful miniature quilt patterns exclusively for this club. Many of the patterns have fun added bonuses such as fun recipes, an extra project or tips and tricks. All eight miniature quilts are quick and easy to complete using basic quilting skills. These little miniatures are perfect for decorative wall hangings and table toppers!

Come join us for the fun! Bring show and tell.

PREMIER+ 2 SOFTWARE (PC not MAC)
Teacher: Jane McMurray
Dates: Saturday, January 11 and 18
Time: 2pm-4pm

You will learn the basics of the PREMIER+2 Embroidery software in this class. You will learn the new layout of the title bar, ribbon bar and design panel. You will learn to find your design and how to insert them to your work area. We will go through how to change your thread colors, resize and make design combinations. We will also explore the Ribbon Tabs. We will use Life View and the Design Player. You will also learn about Save, Save As and Export functions.

**You must have prior knowledge of basic computer skills such as navigating in Windows Explorer and using an external mouse. The teacher does not recommend using the touch pad on your laptop computer for this class.
EMBROIDERY WORKSHOP - FROSTY (multi-hoop) Wall Hanging
Teacher: Jane McMurray
Dates: Monday, January 13 and 20
Time: 10am-4pm

Let's learn to multi-hoop this unique Frosty design (instead of piecing it).

Jane will show you how the Premier+2 Software system can split the design for our use in this class. Then we will embroider it using a multi-hooping method and finally put it together into the quilted wall hanging. You choose - Large or Small.
MACHINE EMBROIDERY TECHNIQUE FOR JANUARY - FREE STANDING LACE
Teacher: Jane McMurray
Dates: Saturday, January 18
Time: 10am-1pm

The Pfaff and Husqvarna Viking embroidery machines have built-in designs so that you can learn different types of embroidery. This monthly class will show you how to make Free Standing Lace with wash-away stabilizer and embroidery thread. Your designs will come out looking beautiful on both the front and back.

If possible, built-in designs will be used from your embroidery machine or designs will be provided.

Learn to digitize a new complete project using the PREMIER+ Ultra or PREMIER+ 2 Ultra software.
Laura Heine Collage Quilt
Teacher: Nicole Lester
Dates: Saturday, January 25
Time: 10am-4:00pm

Have you seen the GORGEOUS collages made by Laura Heine? Have you always wanted to make one, but the process scared you off? Now is the time to dive in with her Teeny Tiny Collage Patterns class taught by Nicole. You have a choice of doing any of the Teeny Tiny Collage Patterns. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn the technique and decide if you want to venture into her larger collage patterns!

By the end of the class, you will be more than hooked and ready to conquer her larger patterns! 
OPEN SEW SATURDAY
Dates: Saturday, February 3
Time: 10am-5pm

Join us on the 1st Saturday each month for OPEN SEW SATURDAY! A day for you to come in with your own sewing or embroidery machine, and whatever project you may be working on. We chat and give a little help if you need it. Bring your own lunch, or go out somewhere nearby, just sort of free-wheeling it. We'll leave that up to you.
Ryan's Case for Smiles Sew-in Day

Get ready to join us for an exciting day of making Pillowcase Smiles!

We will be demonstrating the Hot Dog/Burrito method of making pillowcases.
