Welcome New Teachers to SBA
As Mrs. Jackie Kazimir goes on maternity leave, we welcome Evan Mascione and Nathalie Wille who will be substitute teaching through the end of the school year. Evan has just completed his student teaching at Bishop McDevitt High School and will be teaching World History at SBA. Nathalie is a native French speaker who provides French language instruction to students and adults. Nathalie will be teaching French I and French II.

Book Drive  
SBA is collecting gently used books for K-8 schools who currently do not have libraries for their students. Please drop off books to the main office. Thank you in advance for your generosity!


Academic Convocation - Wednesday May 2 at 7pm
As a follow-up to letters sent out to honorees, we invite families of all students who have been on the Honor Roll during any of this year's academic quarters or the fourth quarter of last year. Reception will follow with an opportunity to view the SBA Art Show.  Please RSVP in the link below by today, April 30.

Chipotle Dine & Donate
Stop by the Chipotle on Old York Road in the Target shopping center from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, May 7 and Chipotle will donate 50% of your purchase to SBA toward the cost of transportation for those going to a Youth Conference at Franciscan University this summer. Just simply say that you're there for the SBA fundraiser and you're all set! **This does not apply for mobile orders.** Thanks for your support!
Counseling & College Services

Seniors:
The college acceptance/scholarship information that will be printed in your graduation booklet  has been posted on bulletin board outside the Counseling office. This is the information that you have submitted. Please check it for any acceptances/scholarships that are missing.

Tuesday, May 1 is College Commitment Day. All seniors may wear a t-shirt or sweatshirt from their attending college over their uniform on May 1.

Parents of Underclassmen:
The SBA Counseling Department along with the Parents' Club is happy to welcome representatives from Saint Joseph's University, Drexel University, Temple University and Penn State University to speak with parents on the night of May 3.  A representative from PHEAA will also be in attendance to address FAFSA questions and general financial aid.

The night will run as a panel discussion with each representative speaking about their respective schools and  then answering questions from the parent audience. We hope to see many of you that evening.

Parents' Club General Meeting

All of the parents that chaired or co-chaired an event this year will be eligible to win $250 towards tuition.   We will also introduce our new board members.

SBA Summer Sports Camps

Summer Scholars Program at La Salle University
La Salle University is pleased to announce the Summer Scholars Program, an entirely free, credit-bearing, coursework opportunity for high performing rising junior and senior high school students.
  • all students accepted to this program will be offered a free, 3-credit, transcripted summer course during a special summer session on La Salle's campus (June 28 - August 14)
  • all accepted students will receive free textbooks
  • all accepted students will participate in weekly college-readiness and career preparation activities
  • the program has a total of 75 seats; 35 of these seats will be held for first-generation college students 
Applications and course descriptions will be available shortly at http://www.lasalle.edu/admission/higher-education-initiative/ !  In order to facilitate quick decisions to aid families in summer planning, applications for this program must be postmarked by April 27th.
 
Students accepted into the program will enroll in one course each, meeting Tuesdays and Thurdays from 9:00-12:00.  Interested students should find and complete both the dual credit application and the Summer Scholars application, both through the link above.  Qualified students will have GPA's of at least 3.5.
