Now in its third year, the FRED Awards celebrate the most impactful real estate deals of the year and the teams that make those deals happen. Last month we introduced you to a portion of the 2019 Frederick Real Estate Dealmaker (FRED) Award finalists. Check out our preview of more of the finalists below. Winners will be announced at the FRED Awards celebration in April.

OED Announces the 2019 FRED Award finalists for Deal of the Year, Expansion of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement Award
Now in its 3rd  year, OED hosts the FRED Awards to recognize and celebrate the commercial real estate industry deals and transactions made in 2018 that have made significant impacts on Frederick County's economy. 
 
New Training for Frederick's Manufacturing Industry Launches this Spring
In response to industry feedback, Frederick Community College, in partnership with OED, Frederick County Workforce Services, and the Frederick County Manufacturer's Roundtable, announced a new Industrial Maintenance Training course. And, the best part is that you may be entitled to a 50% reimbursement for the cost of the training!

Frederick's Tech Meetup Community Mirrors a Rising Industry
Technology is one of Frederick's key economic growth engines. As more tech businesses launch and expand here, the County also benefits from a pool of local tech talent that is growing both in numbers, and sophistication.

OED Welcomes 3rd Class of the Future Minority Business Leaders Program
This 8 month leadership program was designed to bring women and minority business owners and leaders together to expand growth opportunities and leadership qualities. The theme of the program is to inspire, develop and grow current and future business leaders in Frederick County.
Video Pitch Services & ROOT Pitch Competition
Part of creating a successful business is having a solid pitch. If you had two minutes, or even only 30 seconds, could you explain and sell your idea? That's what a solid pitch is all about. Starting this spring, ROOT will begin hosting video pitch competitions.

Keith Burlingame, RaeAnn Butler, ML Carroll, and James R. Castle  are the Top 50 CEOs highlighted this month.  The Top 50 CEO list includes criteria based on the CEO's individual responses on the following: Strategic leadership concepts, Significant growth under his or her leadership, Number of employees, Tenure, Company's turnover rate, Company's median salary, Number of nominations the CEO received and CEO's involvement in the community.
