GRADE 5 MARSHMALLOW CATAPULTS! Visit our Facebook page to view the video of this awesome STEM activity!
A full week of an uninterrupted schedule finally allowed us to gain some momentum and readjust from the holiday break.
Classrooms have been buzzing with the sounds of busy learning, and our middle school students have completed the winter session of MAP Growth testing. This upcoming week, our 3 rd through 5 th graders will be taking their turn at demonstrating growth and learning through the MAP testing platform. Please make certain that your children are well rested and well fed in order to be prepared to tackle the testing! This second round of testing will provide us with important data that our teachers will be using to differentiate their lessons, as well as identifying areas of student
weakness. Teachers will also be assigning students practice and reinforcement of identified areas of improvement on MAP Skills, that we will be using here at school, and eventually will be used to practice at home.

The School Events Committee met this past Monday night to discuss a few upcoming “mini-events”, but the event that got the most attention at the meeting was our annual Gala & Auction. This year’s fundraiser, imagine , is much earlier in the year than our usual end-of-April event, and therefore we really need to “get the ball” rolling in preparing for an amazing time of fun, raising funds. Please notice the flyer in your son/daughter’s Friday folder today, launching and encouraging parents to donate to our classroom baskets for the event. We are really hoping for participation at all grade levels, as these baskets will be a critical part of our auction. Please make note that you do not have to purchase something to go into your grade level basket. If you have a connection, or frequent certain businesses that you could solicit a donation, that would be wonderful.

Our annual Open House will be here in no time; therefore the re-registration process will begin in the very near future. Please be mindful of the fact that we offer our current families the opportunity to secure their spot(s), prior to opening our doors to the public on Sunday, January 27th. With many of our classes close to capacity, it is important that we determine our families' commitment to returning, in order to predict the number of open seats we may have, as new families inquire.
Have a great weekend and God bless.
