Donor Spotlight
We had the pleasure of chatting with Jack Wharton, President of Plains Capital Bank's Ft. Worth Downtown Branch, for this month's Donor Spotlight! Proudly rooted in the state of Texas, Plains Capital has been fulfilling Texan's banking needs for over 30 years.
We were honored to have them serve as this year's Cocktail Sponsor for our Par-tee For Babies Golf Tournament in October and we look forward to their continued support. To learn more about what got Plains Capital Bank involved with First3Years, keep reading below!

What attracted you to the organization/Why did you get involved?

Sadie made me do it. It was actually Sadie's father that made me do it. We [Plains Capital Bank] got involved through business contacts but we have really gotten behind the cause. I've known Sadie and her sister for quite some time and they are just really good kids and I like doing stuff for good people.

In your opinion, what is the most important work that this organization does?

The contact from birth to three. I had two kids in the NICU and I know how important it is to establish that connection between babies and their parents. It is really important to make a safe environment for the baby and their parents and that is what First3Years is doing.

How does First3Years uniquely contribute to the community?

It gives a different take on what a lot of people are already doing out there. Just the name of the organization changes the way we look at it. Any contribution by nonprofits is great but I think it is especially important what First3Years is doing for infants. If we establish these connections in the first three years of life we are going to be that much further ahead than if we hadn't, it's all in the name.

What do you hope the organization will achieve in the near future? In the long term?

Continue to grow. I am looking forward to all of the future programs they [First3Years] will be able to develop.

Do you have an anecdote about this organization that really moved you? Or is there anything else you would like to share?

I just wish everyone has as much passion about their job as Sadie does. Like I saw at the golf tournament, she just has a lot of energy and a lot of passion for what she does.

Baby Day
Announcing Baby Day!!
Imagine waking up to a day that celebrated the excitement and opportunity of the tiniest Texans. Where families meet for playdates in parks, workplaces provide flexibility and support to new parents, and politicians pledge to support our future by building stronger policies for the leaders of tomorrow...the babies of today.

Just imagine all that energy coming together for one big day but carrying on in spirit and action through the years. That would be Baby Day™.

We invite you to join us on February 8, 2019 as we hold Baby Day, the first ever statewide celebration of the first three years, a day acknowledging and celebrating this incredible period of growth in infants and toddlers.

Thanks to our partners, the  Children's Museum (Houston), the Perot Museum (Dallas), the Thinkery (Austin) and the BRIT (Ft. Worth), we will  host a day of family fun at  local museums across the state of Texas. We invite you to join us!

There are many ways to get involved with Baby Day, contact   Natalie Fellows  to learn more or visit us at babyday.us.
