A Haven for Writers
 Since 1999

The Attic Institute is the Birthplace o f Portland's Literary Renaissance

"The best place  to study creative writing in Portland."
~  Willamette Week

Time to Write is a generative workshop for writers of all levels, designed to jump-start your writing and immerse you in your creative process.

"I believe that the largest obstacle we face as writers is ourselves, specifically our desire to create a "finished" and "good" poem or story. Yet getting out of our own way can be more difficult than it seems. I strive to create a classroom environment in which we immerse ourselves in the messiness of the creative process, diving headlong into language and allowing ourselves to make interesting, fruitful mistakes."
~ Patrick Dundon, Teaching Fellow at the Attic Institute

Patrick Dundon is a graduate of the MFA program at Syracuse University where he served as Editor-in-Chief for  Salt Hill Journal . His poems have appeared or are forthcoming in  The Collagist, BOAAT, Sixth Finch, The Adroit Journal, Birdfeast, DIAGRAM, Word Riot , and elsewhere. He studied in the Poets Studio from 2013-2015.
