VACCINATED AGAINST CANCER
Can a vaccine prevent cancer before it starts? The UW School of Veterinary Medicine is part of a clinical trial now underway to evaluate a vaccine strategy for the prevention, rather than the treatment, of cancer in dogs, utilizing the body's own immune system to mount a watchful defense. Animal Blood Bank
dog blood donor at UW Veterinary Care
January marks National Blood Donor Month, a wonderful opportunity to honor the aid and generosity of those animal donors that fill UW Veterinary Care's on-site blood bank with the resources patients may need for emergency or routine blood transfusions. Without these blood products, lives would be lost.

Your pet can give the gift of life by becoming a blood donor. There are a variety of benefits for donors, including free food, routine vaccinations, heartworm testing and preventative, health examinations, and more. Dogs and cats should be good-natured, healthy, and between one and six years old. Cats must weigh more than 10 pounds and dogs must weigh more than 50 pounds.
