MLK Literary Celebration
Monday, January 21, 2 - 5pm
With Authors Jennifer Jones Austin, Esq., Consider It Pure Joy and Alexis Clark, Enemies in Love: A German POW, a Black Nurse and an Unlikely Romance
Each author has a powerful narrative about the African American experience. This Annual Literary Tea is organized by the American Women of African Heritage (AWAH) and will be held at the Jay Heritage Center for the 5th consecutive year. Read about last year's event here.

3 Full Performances of "The Kept Private" plus Talkbacks with the Directors and Actors
JHC is proud to present The Kept Private , a Storyhorse Documentary Theater production based on the 1835 Revolutionary War Pension Application of a 93 year-old black farmer named Andrew Frazier. Read more here

Created by  Jeremy Davidson  and  Mary Stuart Masterson , Storyhorse uses transcribed conversations with the people of our communities, historical documents, and other primary sources from the Hudson Valley to weave compelling narratives.

Seating is limited to 150 guests and pre-registration is requested. Please email bjsjhc@gmail.com to reserve seats. The play is appropriate for high school students and schools are invited to reserve blocks of seats.
