LENT RESOURCES
GIVE IT UP
FOR THE EARTH
St John’s has registered as a parish that is participating in this Lenten environmental campaign launched by Citizens for Public Justice. You may pledge online or complete a postcard to the Prime Minister, which is on the table at the back of the church. There is also an information sheet with suggestions for actions you might take, one side of which is focused on “Less Plastic for Lent” developed by the Anglican Communion Environmental Network.
OUR LENTEN JOURNEY THROUGH THE WATERS OF BAPTISM
This resource from the Primate's World Relief and Development Fund provides an opportunity to pray, act and give while deepening your understanding of the work of PWRDF and partners. The reflections are available as a single downloadable PDF or as daily devotionals in your inbox. PWRDF Lent
40 ACTS:
THE GENEROSITY
CHALLENGE
For eight years, 40acts has asked a question: what if Lent could be about more than just giving stuff up? What if it could be a time of radical generosity as well as spiritual discipline? 40 Acts challenges people to perform a different act of generosity for each day of Lent. Rather than giving up something, the challenge instead is to give something which, in turn, reflects God’s generosity. 40 days, 40 reflections, 40 challenges to make a difference! 40 Acts

PRAYING IN AN AGE OF UNCERTAINTY
Wednesday, March 20th, 27th & April 3rd
7 to 8.30 pm, Chapel

It sometimes seems that the problems in our society and the world are too difficult to understand and respond to with prayer. And yet, we do have an obligation to respond to Paul’s encouragement to “pray without ceasing.” If ever prayer was needed: it is now. Over three weeks, this workshop will approach, in practical terms, the Why, How, When and Where to engage in prayer. Led by our Bishop in Residence, Dennis Drainville. Please join us! Praying in an Age of Uncertainty

Thank You!
A very big “thank you” to those of you who attended the PWRDF Ash Wednesday Supper.

Special thanks to Belle and The Well, to our volunteers and soup donors, and a big ‘thank you’ to all who made donations to the work of The Primate’s Fund. We raised a grand total of $1,295 and are deeply grateful for your generosity.

These funds will used to further the work of PWRDF around the world and here in Canada.

We are also grateful to Albert Dumont, Algonquin Spiritual Teacher-in-Residence at Christ Church Cathedral, for sharing his insights on life and Indigenous spirituality with us. Meegwetch.
