A Note from Our Executive Director

Dear Friends:

Happy New Year! CILO has kicked off the year by launching our 2020 Strategic Planning Process with our staff in a half day retreat facilitated by consultants from the One Source Center for Nonprofit Excellence. Our staff was asked to answer three important questions - Why Are We Here? Where Are We Going?, and What Do We Do Well? This first phase of planning brought about an exchange of ideas that helped us to identify our core values and create a vision statement for the organization. We are ready for the hard work ahead as the process will continue over the next few months with our intention to have it completed by June 30, 2020.

The start of the new year is also an opportunity for us to announce that Board Member Gena Stonefield will begin her term as CILO's Board President.

"I am honored and excited to be the next President of the Board of Directors for The Center for Independent Living Options. I joined the board in February, 2019 as I wholeheartedly believe in the mission. I have found the staff, executive director and board of directors highly professional and an absolute joy to work with as they share my same passion and support of those with disabilities. I welcome this opportunity and look forward to participating at a higher level with the consumers, staff and volunteers. "

We welcome Gena, and concurrently bid farewell to Board President, Bill Donabedian. Bill graciously took on the role as "interim president" which became a three year term as board president while gaining a new perspective and awareness of people with disabilities. We thank Bill for his time, treasure and talent; Bill greatly values the work of the organization and assures us that he will remain a friend of CILO.

I hope this new year brings about positive change for you as well. Please do not hesitate to contact me with comments, questions or suggestions by email or by phone at 513-241-2600 Ext. 211.

Regards,

Rob
