Ideas on how to enhance programs:
More speakers that are focused on planning topics. Speakers have been investment heavy.
An expert on elder abuse or ponzi schemes; Mutual fund portfolio manager; Cyber security expert; Texas economist; and Examiner from the state securities board. I like most speakers that do not have a purely sales agenda.
How to mitigate "sequence risk" in retirement payouts
Emerging markets outlook; Implications of new tax law; Risks in passive strategies or active vs passive; The post DOL environment for advisors on retirement asset management; What about inflation risk? Key signals and where we are; Strategies for hedging geopolitical risk
Any additional comments:
I enjoyed the buffet style lunch. Simple and easy. The salad option was DELICIOUS.
Buffet ruins the meeting. Too long to get food, destroys the ability to sit at table and chat as most of table is in line at one time or another. I have always looked forward to FPA meeting to have a nice plated meal. Will reconsider membership if that goes away.
I liked the new buffet option, although it seemed to make things run a bit behind schedule? I'm sure it will get sorted out. Having a buffet not only lets me pick what I want to eat; it also allows for more networking time - bonus! ;)
I thought the buffet was efficient. Would be nice if they went around earlier to refill coffees. Thanks for asking!
