As We Prepare For The
BAPTISM OF THE LORD
May our ministries bring the new life that you
intend for all people. We ask this in the name of Christ our Lord. Amen
This Sunday, we will turn our attention to the baptism of Jesus from Luke’s Gospel (Luke 3:14-17, 21-22). We’ll use these verses as a launching place to look at what it means for us to be baptized. There are a lot of different ways that the church looks at baptism. First and foremost, baptism is seen as God’s gift to us. The water of baptism represents a washing away of sin – as we die to the old self and are raised to new life in Christ. On Sunday, we’ll look at baptism as initiation into the church and what it means to be part of God’s story.
If you’re feeling well and are in town, I hope you’ll take time to be in worship on Sunday. We miss you when you’re gone!

Blessings,

The next rotation topic started this week. We will talk about how we can use these positives to treat other the way we all want to be treated and how maybe we can adjust how we react to situations.

Let's start filling in the dates for 2019!
There is still time to submit your questions!!!
We will kick of the new year by exploring a sermon series “Questions of Faith”. Asking questions is an important part of our faith, through asking questions and faithfully looking for answers we can continue to grow in faith and understand more what we believe. We want to know what questions you have about faith, God and life so we can incorporate these into the sermon series.  Please take a moment, think about your questions you have about your faith, general and specific.  Please email your questions to the following email at  pastor@coonrapidsmethodistchurch.org   or if you would prefer to be anonymous you can write them down on the insert in the bulletin or any piece of paper and put them in the “Questions of Faith” box on the table in the back of the sanctuary. There is also the option of doing this online using Google Forms at this link:  https://goo.gl/forms/l8jwIhrQgmlZDxcD3 . You can begin submitting questions at any time.
