Facilities Update - We Still Need Your Help!

The school is scheduled to present at the District 10 Community Council Meeting on May 2nd, 2018 at 7:00 PM.  The location has changed to: Mission Orthodox Church -  1040 Como Ave, St Paul, MN 55103.   Please save the date for this meeting and plan to attend. It is very important that you show your support at this meeting.
BUSING SURVEY: 2018-19

If you are a current bus family, or are interested in using the TCGIS bus service for the 2018-19 school year, please be sure to take our  BUSING SURVEY by  Sunday, April 29, 2018. Your feedback is needed for plan for next year's busing program!

Further information on finalized bus routes, stops, and registration procedures will be provided before the end of the 2017-18 school year.

K-4 Field Day 2018 on 5/18

This year's K-4 Field Day 2018 is set for Friday, May 18. Please mark this day in your calendar if you would like to lead one of our stations or help walk the students to the park. Our backup day in case of bad weather is Monday, May 21. More information will be coming out soon!  Thanks!
Last (nearby) Volleyball Game

Come cheer on our TCGIS 7th and 8th Grade Volleyball Teams at the   Friends School (1365 Englewood Ave, St Paul, MN 55104) this Friday, April 27th. Games begin at 4:30 and 5:30pm.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, May 12, at 1pm! We are having another TCGIS event in collaboration with Minnesota United FC. What's different about this event?  It's also a fundraiser for our big End of the Year Picnic!

For every ticket purchased, TCGIS receives $5 towards funding the picnic on Tuesday, June 12. Enter the promo code TCGIS0512 on this page and buy tickets today! 
The picnic on June 12 is a great way to celebrate the end of the 2017-18 school year, but it's also a great way to meet players from MN United FC! We are so excited to announce that we will have 1-2 players from the team at our picnic who will be ready to sign your jerseys and scarves, and to take photos with fans!

Our last day of school is coming up fast! Mark your calendars for Tuesday, June 12 to celebrate our End of the Year Picnic! The picnic will be held at the Como Park Pavilions and will be from 11:30am-2:00pm. To help make this event a success, we need help from parent volunteers. SEAC Meeting on April 30

The Special Education Advisory (SEAC) is inviting everyone to the next meeting on  April 30th from   6-7:30pm in room 100. We hope to see you there! 
Drama Play 

7/8th grade play "Der Besuch der alten Dame" coming soon! It is a  3-act play by Swiss playwright Friedrich DĂĽrrenmatt, 90 minutes long.

There will be two performances in room 100:  Tues, May 15 at 10:40 AM and  Thurs, May 17 at 8:30 AM.  All adults are invited!  The play is a tragic comedy, but the main theme is pretty dark and involves corruption to the point of murder.
Book Fair April 30-May 4 - Volunteers Needed

The Book  Fair is coming  April 30th-May 4th and we need v olunteers!  We cannot do it without parent help. If you are able to help out with the  book   fair , please sign-up here  . Email Ginger Sanford at  gsanford@tcgis.org  with questions.

Meet the Candidates Forum

Come to the PTO sponsored Meet the Candidates Forum on May 8th, 7:30-8:30, Room 100 @ TCGIS.  Read the board candidates bios here. 

TCGIS will elect THREE board members this year to serve a three year term.
We have 4 candidates for the TCGIS Board: Jenneke Oosterhoff, Julie Alkatout, Nic Ludwig, Ron Okenfuss.

Letter for 4th Graders Interested in Band & Band Concert

Do you have a 4th grader at TCGIS who is interested in band at TCGIS? Please take a look at this letter from Krista Johnson, the band instructor at our school. This will be on Thursday, May 3. 

This year's band will have their concert on May 9 from  5-5:30pm in the Aula. Potluck following. All are welcome to attend!
Build Your Own Rain Barrel

The Como Community Council invites families and staff to a Rain Barrel Workshop  May 19 at TCGIS. You will learn about the benefits of rain barrels, why to use them, and how to install them. Then you will take home a rain barrel. The cost for the workshop and barrel is only $29 (plus tax). That is a savings of $50.  Space is limited, so sign up soon.
