Thursday evening, we will welcome Bishop Jeff Fisher to Holy Spirit for the ordination of our newest clergy at Holy Spirit, Korey Wright.  We have all been blessed by Korey's preaching and teaching.  He clearly has a pastoral heart and a gifted mind.  Korey has committed himself for several years to the discernment and process of preparing for ordination to the priesthood.  Ordained ministry is a life of service and leadership.  As a priest and pastor he will not only serve here at Holy Spirit, but go forth to serve, lead, form, comfort, and encourage other church communities for decades to come.  He will be with people to celebrate their greatest joys as he blesses at baptisms and weddings.  He will be with people in their greatest times of need to comfort and be a tangible reminder of God's love, grace, and presence.  This is a significant thing to commit to and on Thursday night, we will witness Korey's commitment to God's Church. 

I want to invite you to join us for this moment in which we call on the Holy Spirit to make Korey a priest.  Our guest preacher, Aaron Zimmerman, will proclaim the Good News of how God's grace becomes known in the life of ministry.  The Bishop and clergy will lay hands on Korey for ordination.  Your presence and prayers will be essential as we ask God's presence and movement.  It will be a wonderful celebration of God's work in our life, community, and church.

Then this Sunday at the 10:30 service, Korey will celebrate the Eucharist for the first time.  Come and take part in this wonderful feast.  I pray that you are encouraged by what God is doing in our midst.  May Korey's ordination and new ministry be a reminder of God's ongoing work and revelation to a world in need of Good News.  Please join with me in praying for Korey as we anticipate this joyful moment!
