DAOM and MTOM Faculty and CE Instructors -
Title IX Harassment Training
March 5, 2018

Dear Faculty and CE Instructors,

In order to foster a safe, respectful campus environment, all staff, faculty, and students will be educated on Title IX, which is the federal law addressing sex discrimination including sexual harassment and assault.  In addition, all administrative staff members with a supervisory role are required to participate in a three hour sexual harassment prevention training, which is required by the state of California every two years.    The College's sexual misconduct policy involving students is included in the College's Annual Security Report.  https://www.emperors.edu/about/annual-security-report/
The College's sexual misconduct policy for staff is included in the employee handbook, which is attached.  Please review these policies thoroughly.

All faculty and staff at Emperor's College are "responsible employees," which means that you have an obligation to report any incidents of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct (including but limited to assault) that occur on Emperor's College campus.  You should report any incidents to me, as I am the College's Title IX Coordinator. Emperor's College takes claims of sexual harassment and assault very seriously, and we will investigate all reports thoroughly.

All faculty will be required to complete the following 30-minute Title IX training.  The federal "Violence Against Women Act" of 2013 mandates all staff, faculty and students in higher education to be provided training to raise awareness and promote prevention of sexual harassment and assault.
