It’s Wellness Wednesday!!!!!! This week’s theme is about visualizing to set intentions.
Enjoy this week's "Article of The Week" and please feel free to share any comments, questions, or revelations that it may evoke.
Moment of Transparency: Monday was my first day of class and the first day that I had stepped into a classroom as the teacher of record in 5 years. I was soooo nervous, but this time was so very different. For the first time in my life as an educator, I actually felt equipped because I had given myself the training needed to be prepared for whatever, and I had visualized and set the intention for the school year before arriving and especially once I came into the classroom.
What I discovered was that the majority of the battle before was in my head, lack of expectations and out of control emotions and anxiety because of the high expectations placed on me (or maybe that I placed on myself). Of course, I didn't have computer access, no school email address, no access to the portal, no key card to enter the room, no time to copy the ice breaker activity I had created, no class roster, and someone else was assigned to the class I was told I would teach of which I found out 15 minutes prior to that class actually beginning.
I connected with the breath, realized that all was out of my locus of control and waited for everything to work itself out. Because it always does. Normally this situation would have me in a full blown complaint rant or anxiety attack, but today was different. I had my
Blissful Backpack
with me and my whole disposition was different than it had ever been. Instead of being filled with terror, or allowing myself to believe that this whole thing was a bad idea, I was actually filled with genuine excitement despite all that wasn't in place.
Before the end of class, I asked my students to join me in a visualization of their best life. The looks on their faces when they opened their eyes almost made me cry. I plan to take 3-5 minutes at the beginning of class to allow my students to ground, stabilize, and balance. What I experienced this morning could have easily been a setting event to take with me inside the classroom. My students looked so relieved to hear about how we would begin class each day! I guess I secretly expected some type of resistance or I had at least planned for it....
As educators we have the power to empower. We go through so much to ensure that we provide what is best for our students. Our lifestyles reflect in bigger ways than we know, and our youth are watching. Use your superpowers for good and stay encouraged to make an impact, we matter, and WE are what makes and creates the movers and shakers of the future.
Thank you for all that you do! 😁😊😉
BE BLESSED ♥️✨♥️
Please contact me for more information or if you are interested in furthering your journey and diving deeper into becoming your best self.

I hope this note finds you in peace. How did your meditations go this week? Please feel free to contact me for all your questions or feedback.
Achieving bliss during meditation can be difficult. Staying positive and managing our thoughts can also be just as difficult. But as we continue to train ourselves to visualize, to relax, and to believe the wonderful things that we say to ourselves, it becomes a lot easier. Our nervous systems need a break at least daily from all of the stress that situations can make us feel. Meditation has created an outlet for me to let go and release tension, but also to stay in a place of bliss during the day. Many of our flight or flight responses have been overworked and they manifest within our bodies as sickness, tension, discomfort, and even disease. We have the power to heal ourselves.
Be at Peace, Namaste, and Be Blessed Always!
I pray that this meditation serves the intentions to which is was created to restore your faith, balance, and a sense of peace and calmness.

Mission
TOP promotes social and economic equality for low to moderate income Texans through community and electoral organizing.
Texas is a big and diverse state, and considering the evolving social makeup and the widespread need for improvement in areas of health care, poverty, and education, community organizing has never been more important.
*Texas has the highest rate of uninsured citizens in the country.
*Texas has the 5th highest poverty rate in the country.
*Texas has a high school dropout rate over 50% in urban areas and more than double the national average.
|
|
|
|
In order to address these and other critical issues, Texas needs empowered and organized residents. TOP provides hard working Texans the opportunity to implement real change by organizing their own neighborhoods, investing their time and energy in causes relevant to their respective communities, and collectively taking ownership of TOP’s agenda, strategy and direction.
