It's not too late to register for Spring Semester classes. A 14-week Spring Semester starts January 22 and a 12-week session starts February 5.

Information Sessions, Campus Tours Scheduled in January

Learn about all RVCC has to offer by attending an Information Session and touring the campus:
Fridays, January 12 & 26, 10-11 a.m. (Conference Center, Room 102), or Wednesday, January 17, 4-6 p.m. (Atrium, College Center, lower level).

A special Information Session for Adults who are considering returning to college or have never attended college will be held Saturday, January 20, 9-10 a.m. (Atrium, College Center, lower level).

RVCC Launches Occupational Therapy Assistant Program

Beginning in the Spring Semester, RVCC will welcome the first class of its new Occupational Therapy Assistant program. RVCC is the first community college in NJ to offer an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant.  

Designed for students interested in entering the workforce immediately after graduation, the program combines classroom instruction with clinical training in a community setting. The 67-credit program is designed to be completed in two years, with three semesters of full-time coursework and one semester of full-time, 40-hours-per-week fieldwork. Federal and state financial aid options are available.

Artwork by Students in Independent Study Programs to be Displayed

RVCC's Visual and Performing Arts Department will present the annual RVCC Independent Study Students Exhibition, January 22-February 9, in the Art Gallery at the College's Branchburg campus. An artists' talk will be held Friday, January 26, from 5-6 p.m., in the Art Gallery, followed by a reception from 6-7 p.m.

The annual exhibition, featuring advanced work in such media as ceramics, visual communication, painting and digital/multimedia, highlights the artwork of students who completed an independent study during the Spring, Summer and Fall 2017 Semesters.

Professor's Book Offers Introductory Guide to Race, Racism

Readers looking to gain a better understanding of the history of racism should check out a new book written by Dr. Karen Gaffney, Professor of English. Dr. Gaffney's D ismantling the Racism Machine: A Manual and Toolbox (Routledge), offers an accessible, introductory guide to race and racism.

Dual Admissions Agreement Signed with ESU Focuses on STEM Fields

RVCC and East Stroudsburg University (ESU) have entered into a new Dual Admissions Agreement that will allow for the seamless transfer of RVCC students to ESU in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) fields.

National Honor Society Selects RVCC Professor as Faculty Scholar

Dr. Sara Banfield, Associate Professor of Communication Studies, has been selected by the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society as one of 30 chapter advisors, advisors emeriti, and alumni to serve as Faculty Scholars.

FirstEnergy Foundation Grant to Benefit RVCC Planetarium

The RVCC Foundation has received a $7,000 grant from the FirstEnergy Foundation to support new programming at the RVCC Planetarium. The grant will enable the Planetarium to purchase a digital program covering topics in astronomy, biology, and technology..

Honors College Students Present Independent Study Projects

Twenty-five students from RVCC's Honors College presented their independent "Capstone Course" projects during two half-day symposiums, held December 14 and 15 at the College's Branchburg campus.
