A prayer for the New Year
Lord God, loving Savior, forgiver of our sins, to know you is to love you; to serve you is eternal life. We give you thanks for the beginning of another year and the opportunities that lie before us. We pray that we may serve you more and more each day. Guide us through this year with joy and thankfulness for all your many blessings, that our eyes may be open to see you at work in the world and the opportunities you give us to serve you and those around us. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Vestry Candidates Needed
The Vestry is the governing board of the parish and makes financial, outreach, building and other decisions on behalf of the congregation. Vestry members are elected at our Annual Meeting which will be held on Sunday, February 11. Two of our Vestry members, Penny Parker and Val Tucker, are finishing their three year term and will be rotating off. We need confirmed members in good standing to run for the Vestry to fill up to five vacancies. (We can have 12 on the Vestry and we currently have 9.) The Vestry meets on the third Sunday of the month at 12:00 noon. Vestry meeting are open to parish members to attend. You are invited to attend a meeting and see what goes on. If you would like to know more, please talk with a Vestry member, David Weir our Senior Warden, or Carol Hancock.

Please pick up your pledge envelopes
Your pledge envelopes can be picked up on Sunday in the breezeway, or during the week in the office. We ask that you pick them up as soon as possible so that we will not have to incur the expense of mailing them. Thanks! (If you have not yet pledged for 2018, it's not too late!)
Sunday counters needed
We are looking for a few new counters to add to our roster. On a rotating schedule, two counters count the weekly offering and take the deposit to the bank. If you want to learn more, please contact Marie McDermott at [email protected]

Bishop's Visitation on April 22
Bishop David Jones will make his visitation with us on Sunday morning, April 22. Bishop Jones and perhaps other retired bishops will be assisting with visitations during 2018 while the diocese searches for a second suffragan bishop. Bishop Ted Gulick retired at the end of December. If anyone, age 14 or older, is interested in being confirmed when Bishop Jones is here, please let me know as soon as possible so we can set the dates and times for the necessary classes.

Conversion
What would it look like to live as one who had seen Jesus? The way we look at the world would change. The way we act would change. Even the way we look would change. None can come to Christ and go away as they came.
