A Tribute to "Innovators, Immigrants and Working Stiffs"

The Made-in-Chicago Museum, established by curator Andrew Clayman in 2015, is a thoroughly unsolicited historical research project focused on collecting, documenting, and celebrating the "everyday objects" produced during Chicago's 20th-century industrial heyday.  The industrial antiques dating from 1900 to 19 70, from tools and toy trains to telephones and typewriters, are on display  at the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society on Chicago's North Side.

One of the many industrial biographies Clayman has documented is of the once small subsidiary of a meat packing giant... WILSON SPORTING GOODS

The last Chicago-built Schwinn bicycle rolled off the assembly line  in 1982 .   While the brand name still exists on Chinese imports, anybody who buys a new one is bound to  hear "they don't make 'em like  they used to.
